Todd Sinai was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2017. 

Todd is the David B. Ford Professor, Professor of Real Estate and Business Economics and Public Policy at the Wharton School, where he has been a member of the standing faculty since 1997 and the Chairperson of the Real Estate department since 2019. He also is an independent Director of Ready Capital, a small-balance commercial mortgage REIT (NYSE:RC), where he is a member of the Audit Committee and chairs the Nomination and Governance Committee. Todd’s other professional positions include Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and he has previously been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and Philadelphia. Todd’s views and research also have appeared in the popular media, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Newsweek, Businessweek, Bloomberg TV, and CNBC, and his research has been published in leading academic journals in economics.

Todd graduated from Yale with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics and received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Todd moved to Lower Merion in 1999, where he lives with his wife, Susan Guthrie, and two children. Todd previously served as a youth sports coach in Lower Merion and as a Director of the Merion Civic Association.
