USDA Forest Service
Established in 1905, the Forest Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands. Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the Forest Service, summed up the mission of the Forest Service— "to provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run." The Mission of the Pennsylvania Community Forests Council is to assist communities in developing comprehensive and sustainable urban forestry programs for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life.

Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC)
Recognizing the need to restore tree canopy in our region, DVRPC is a key partner in the TreeVitalize Municipalities Program. The TreeVitalize Municipalities program of the overall TreeVitalize partnership operates in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties with the aim to help communities overcome obstacles to restoring and managing their tree canopy. TreeVitalize Municipalities challenges municipal leaders to treat trees as part of their community's infrastructure, and to consider trees in their plans, ordinances and capital improvement projects.
