Equipment necessary to supplement the Township’s trucks or loaders will be hired on an as-needed basis for each storm. In past history, it has been necessary to use two hired trucks along with our own work force when necessary. It will continue to be a policy to hire trucks for salting and plowing as necessary to accomplish the task as in the past, and the decision to hire trucks and/or loaders to supplement our equipment will be at the discretion of the Director of Public Works or his designee. In most cases, all hired equipment will be on contract with the Department of Public Works on an annual basis. During periods of emergency, it may become necessary to hire additional equipment, as a storm would dictate for hauling snow and clearing parking areas. Prices will be obtained by the Director of Public Works or his designee and approval for hiring would be at the discretion of the Township Manager or Assistant Township Manager.
