Montgomery County Prescription Drug Disposal Program
Lower Merion Police Headquarters is one of many Montgomery County locations available to the public for safe and confidential disposal of unwanted, unsafe or expired medications at no cost. Access to the drug disposal box is available 24 hours a day in the police station lobby.
For access after hours simply use the phone in the entranceway of the police station.
Presription pill abuse has become a significant problem among Montgomery County youth. Often, illegal use starts at home where children find Oxycontin, Percocet, Hydrocodone and other narcotics that had been prescribed to their parents in unlocked medicine cabinets or elsewhere. It is well documented that prescription drug abuse can quickly lead to addiction, other criminal activity and even death.
