The search tool below will allow you to find various contractors that are currently “licensed” with the Township of Lower Merion. This license should not be confused with PA’s Home Improvement Contractors (HIC) registration. Home Improvement Contractors “registered” with the state are not required to obtain a Lower Merion Township contractor’s license. Commercial contractors, and residential home builders, are not considered Home Improvement Contractors and, as such, are required to obtain a Township contractor’s license.
Contractors listed on this search tool have paid an annual license fee to the Township. Since contractors general liability insurance certificates expire at various times during the course of the year, consumers should always request a current certificate of insurance from anyone performing work on their home or business.
This search tool also lists various mechanical contractors. They include plumbing, electrical, heating, HVAC, burglar/fire alarm and fire protection contractors. These mechanical contractors are required to obtain a “license” to perform work in the Township. Attainment of this license is based on their experience, testing and licensure in their individual trade. This mechanical “license” should not be confused with PA’s HIC “registration” for Home Improvement Contractors.
This search tool is not a recommendation or endorsement of any particular contractor and/or company.
