Biography

Commissioner Daly has a national litigation practice focused on defending class actions, handling critical motions and appeals, and maximizing the defensibility of marketing and enforceability of contracts.  He graduated cum laude with honors from Bucknell University, where he was a member of its D-I wrestling team, and graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Villanova University School of Law, where he was an editor of its law review and an extern for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Following law school, Mike clerked for the Honorable James McGirr Kelly of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  He is now a partner with Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia, an adjunct professor at Villanova University School of Law, a Master in Villanova’s Inn of Court, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a Chair of the American Bar Association’s Consumer Litigation Committee.  He also maintains an active pro bono practice, having challenged voting machines that did not produce recountable records, agencies that did not provide information in formats for the visually impaired, and a detention center that did not provide safe conditions of confinement during the pandemic.

Mike and his wife are members and boosters of many local organizations, including the Gladwyne Civic Association, Riverbend Environmental Education Center, the Bridlewild Trails Association, the Lower Merion Conservancy, the Henry Botanic Garden, the Merion Square Scout House, the Gladwyne Free Library, the Gladwyne VFW, the Gladwyne Fire Company, and Philadelphia Country Club.  Their children are proud products of many of Lower Merion’s public schools: Gladwyne Elementary, Welsh Valley Middle School, Black Rock Middle School, and Harriton High School.  Their family enjoys playing with their rescue dogs, exploring their local parks and trails, and tending their garden and the traffic triangle they adopted during the pandemic.
