Biography

Commissioner Timberlake relocated from Maine to the Main Line with his wife and sons in 2010, landing in Wayne for a year before settling in Ardmore. Deeply interested in transportation and development, he believes that our places and streets should be built for people and safe for all users, whatever their mode of transit.

Craig is a dedicated volunteer and leader who has worked hard to strengthen his community. He served as president of Ardwood Civic Association, working with like-minded neighbors to revive and reinvigorate the civic after a period of dormancy punctuated by the COVID pandemic. Craig served as a member of the Ardmore Master Plan and Schauffele Plaza steering committees, and later as a member of the Ardmore Parking Committee.

Craig is a founding member of the Friends of South Ardmore Park and the Friends of Schauffele Plaza and remains an active volunteer with both groups. He founded and leads Strong Towns Greater Ardmore, a "local conversation" of the growing Strong Towns movement, which advocates for an incremental, bottom-up approach to address local issues such as safe streets, housing affordability, and government transparency. In 2025, he led an effort to beautify and activate Schauffele Plaza to demonstrate community demand for third places in Ardmore.

In his professional life, Craig is a project manager with OnCourse Systems for Education, a small-but-mighty Pennsylvania-based ed-tech innovator that provides K-12 school districts with tools to support student growth and achievement. In his spare time, Craig enjoys making music, woodworking, and taking long walks around Ardmore, usually accompanied by his dog, Brady. As a native New Englander, Craig is a steadfast Patriots and Red Sox fan and thinks Philly winters are easy.
