Biography

Commissioner Chris McGuire took the oath of office as Township Commissioner for Ward 14 on January 5, 2026.

Commissioner Christine "Chris" McGuire, Psy.D. has been active in Lower Merion civic life for more than a decade. She served on the Gladwyne Civic Association Board beginning in 2013 and has served as a Villanova Ward 6 Committee Person since 2021. She has also volunteered on Democratic political campaigns, presidential campaigns, and with March for Our Lives, lobbying US House and US Senate members in Washington, DC for policies to reduce gun violence and improve public safety.

Dr. McGuire is a licensed Pennsylvania psychologist and a certified psychologist in the Republic of Ireland.  Her professional work focuses exclusively on forensic psychological evaluations in matters involving catastrophic injury, trauma, wrongful death, and victims' rights. She works directly with attorneys to provide expert testimony in legal proceedings. She is the owner and practice director of Evergreen Counseling and Psychological Associates, LLC, where she oversees clinical operations.

Chris earned degrees from Temple University, Villanova University, and Chestnut Hill College, and completed clinical internships at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Lenape Valley Foundation. Her career has included service as a Senior Psychologist with the Republic of Ireland's HSE - Health Service Executive, where she supervised child and adolescent psychiatry psychology services and community psychology for two counties; Westmeath and Longford. She held an appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgia Regents University Medical College of Georgia. She has also conducted psychological evaluations for the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole and for state and federal courts in criminal proceedings.

She is committed to responsive local government, public safety, and ensuring that residents have a strong voice in township decision-making.
