Proposed Ordinance - Leaf Blower Regulations - For Consideration on 11-19-2025

On June 17, 2025 the Townships of Lower Merion, Haverford, Springfield and Narberth Borough cohosted a free, half-day workshop and equipment demonstration event on commercial landscaping with electric equipment. The event was attended by 35 participants representing 13 different organizations (municipalities, lawn care companies, and institutions).

On September 10, 2025, a proposed ordinance restricting the use of gas powered leaf blowers was listed as "for information only" on the Board of Commissioners Sustainability Committee agenda. 

On October 8, 2025, a proposed ordinance restricting the use of gas powered leaf blowers was considered by the Board of Commissioners Sustainability Committee. The meeting agenda including staff memo and proposed ordinance can be found here. The recording of the meeting is available here. 

On October 22, 2025, an amended ordinance restricting the use of gas powered leaf blowers was authorized for advertisement by the Board of Commissioners. The meeting agenda including staff memo and proposed, amended ordinance can be found here. The recording of the meeting is available here. 

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at their regularly scheduled meeting, the Board of Commissioners will consider adopting an ordinance restricting the use of gas powered leaf blowers. The proposed ordinance is available for review here.
