Curbside Compost Bin

Free, 1-year Curbside Pickup and Composting of Household Organic Waste!

Registered participants will receive a container to collect their household’s food scraps and other organic waste. Containers can be placed on the curb each week on regularly scheduled refuse collection days, alongside trash and recycling bins. The waste will be collected weekly by Mother Compost and Bennet Compost, and turned into compost!

Space is limited to the first 75 eligible households to register. To be eligible, you must:

  • Reside within the Catchment Area (below)
  • Currently have trash and recycling picked up by Lower Merion Township
  • Complete the registration steps
  • Receive the designated collection bin

Because this is a temporary pilot program for evaluation, eligibility is limited to new subscribers only.

The Catchment Area includes homes located southeast of the Bala Cynwyd Library, from W City Avenue to N Highland Ave and from Old Lancaster Rd to Bryn Mawr Ave, plus homes on Stoneway Ln, Edgehill Rd, and Upland Rd. Only single-family homes within the Catchment Area are eligible to participate in the program. Multi-family, commercial, and institutional properties are not eligible.

If you meet the eligibility requirements: Register Here

If you are not eligible to participate, fill out the form below to be notified of program expansion or any new composting programs!
