Fair and Impartial Policing

The Lower Merion Township Police Department conducts Fair and Impartial Policing training annually for all officers.  The Fair and Impartial Policing perspective leads to the conclusion that even the best law enforcement officers may manifest bias because they are human, and even the best agencies may have biased policing because they hire humans.  Therefore, officers are provided training specifically designed to enhance their understanding of how bias  including implicit or unconscious bias  affects officer behavior, and the impact that biased policing has on officers and the community.

Fair and Impartial Policing training leads to safe, effective and just policing.
