Prescription Drug Take Back
Montgomery County Prescription Drug Disposal Program
Click here to view more information on our Events page.
Medicine take back options are the best way to safely dispose of most types of unneeded or expired prescription and over the counter medicines. There are generally two kinds of take back options:
- Permanent collection locations and sites
- Periodic events
The Lower Merion Police Station is a 24/7 Prescription drop off location for Montgomery County Prescription Drug Disposal Program. For more information on the program, please view the DEA pamphlet found here.
Before disposing of prescription medicines using a drug take back option, be sure to remove all personal information on the label of pill bottles or medicine packaging. Do note that all medicines dropped off at these locations will be destroyed and discarded.
A big thank you to the Rite Aid Foundation and their KidCents program which donated the medication disposal box seen below!
