Police Internship Program
The internship program offered by the Lower Merion Police Department is managed by the Staff and Inspections Unit. Full time students interested in law enforcement careers will receive valuable experience at a large, modern, accredited police department. The experience will include, but will not be limited to, patrol, communications, training, records, and investigations. Interns will not receive any form of compensation or benefits from the Township of Lower Merion.
Program Requirements
- Must be a full time student from an accredited college or university
- Must have a major in Criminal Justice or law enforcement related field
- Proof of enrollment and letter of referral from the college or university
- Criminal history check
- Drug screen
Application Procedure
Students must submit, via mail or email, a letter of referral from their accredited college or university, a completed employment application, liability release and permission form, and a resume to the Lower Merion Police Department, Attention Sgt. Charles Maier, Staff and Inspections Unit. The following documentation is also required: current photo identification, certified copy of birth certificate, proof of medical/heath insurance. Lower Merion Police Department reserves the right to accept or reject any internship requests. If you have any questions regarding the program you can contact Sgt.
