Join the Lower Merion Police Department

The Lower Merion Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Probationary Police Officer beginning Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.  There is a $30.00 fee per application. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

Applications will be accepted in person and via mail.  A check or money order for $30.00, made payable to Lower Merion Township, must be submitted with each application in order for it to be processed. Applications delivered in person will be accepted by the Staff & Inspections Unit between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The written test will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lower Merion High School Cafeteria (315 E. Montgomery Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003).

Information Session

People who are interested in career as a Lower Merion Police Officer are encouraged to attend the Information Session; which be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Township Administration Building -

 2nd Floor Board Room.

The Information Session will include presentations by Lower Merion Police Recruiting Personnel, current Police Cadets, and other members of the Lower Merion Police Department.  The session will provide an overview of the testing and selection process, training requirements, job specific information relevant to a career as a police officer, and will conclude with a Q & A session.
