Description of requirements for this council

The Health Advisory Council recommends plans and programs to the Board of Commissioners for the protection of the public health of the residents of the Township of Lower Merion and advise the appropriate boards, agencies and officials of the township concerning matters of public health.

Membership: shall be composed of not more than seven and not fewer than five residents of the Township of Lower Merion.

Term of Office: Four years.

Meeting Time and Place: Meetings shall occur on the 1st Monday each month at 7:00 PM in the Township Administration Building.

Department Liaison: Public Information Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Health Advisory Council shall recommend plans and programs to the Board of Commissioners for the protection of the public health of the residents of the Township of Lower Merion and advise the appropriate boards, agencies and officials of the township concerning matters of public health.

Established by: Code of the Township of Lower Merion Ordinance No. 3768 on January 18, 2006.
