The April 27, 2020 Historical Commission Meeting Has Been Cancelled.


The Historical Commission will not be meeting in April, though Township staff will be providing recommendations on two applications to the Board of Commissioners for their scheduled May meeting. Recommendations will be based on comments from members of the Historical Commission and the public. Public comment on these applications is welcome, and will be accepted until noon on Thursday, April 30. Comments may be sent to:

1. 2020-R-11 - 1415 Lane’s End, Villanova - Class 1

The applicant proposes to construct a garage addition and to make other modifications to the home, including changing siding material and constructing second floor dormers. 

This property was part of the Harriton Farm development. When approved in the late 1990s, all existing buildings on the property were designated as Class 1 historic resources. While some of those original structures date back more than a century, this particular home is a 1949 design by Walter K. Durham.


2. 2020-R-12 - 416 East Athens Avenue, Ardmore - Class 2

Application to replace a slate roof with Landmark Pro asphalt shingles. Slate on the rear gable end and dormer walls is proposed to remain.
