Significant Crimes in Lower Merion Township

April 17, 2018

 Sometime since April 12th,  an attempted residential burglary occurred in the first block of Lodges Lane, Bala Cynwyd.  The front door was damaged but entry was not gained.

April 3, 2018

Sometime between March 30th and April 2nd, a commercial burglary occurred at The Parkinson Council located at 111 Presidential Blvd, Bala Cynwyd.  Entry into the business was gained by unknown means.  Once inside the suspect forcibly entered a desk drawer, nothing was taken.

 Sometime between March 31st and April 1st, a commercial burglary occurred at Kneady Muscles located at 385 West Lancaster Ave, Haverford.  Entry into the business was gained by manipulating a deadbolt lock.  Once inside the suspect removed a key box, a chair cushion and several other items of little value.

March 27, 2018

Last evening at approximately 10:20 PM, an armed robbery occurred in the 100 Block of East Spring Ave, Ardmore.  In this incident two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts approached the victim who was seated in his car.  One possessed a silver handgun.  Taken was the victims wallet and cellphone.

February 22, 2018

On Tuesday February 20th, between 6:30 PM and 8:45 PM, a residential burglary occurred in the 500 Blk of Haverford Rd, Wynnewood.  Entry into the residence was gained via a second-floor window.  It is unknown if there is any loss.

On Tuesday February 20th , two attempted residential burglaries were discovered on the 1200 Block of Weymouth Rd, Wynnewood.  An attempt was made to force a window in one instance.  An attempt was made to force a door in the other.

 February 12, 2018

On Saturday, February 10th, at approximately 6PM, a residential burglary occurred in the 1500 Block of James Rd, Wynnewood.  Entry into the residence was gained by forcing a rear window.  Once inside the suspects removed jewelry and musical instruments. Two suspects were arrested.

On Saturday February 10th at approximately 6:20 PM officers responding to an alarm discovered a burglary in the 100 Block of David Rd, Bala Cynwyd. Entry into the residence was gained by forcing a rear sunroom window. It is unknown what was taken.

On Saturday February 10th at approximately 7PM officers responding to an alarm activation in the 200 Block of River Rd, Gladwyne, discovered an attempt to enter a second-floor window.

On Sunday, February 11th at approximately 5AM a commercial burglary occurred at Giannini Jewelers located at 15 East Lancaster Ave, Ardmore.  Entry into the business was gained by breaking a glass door.

Sometime between Friday February 9th and Sunday February 11th a residential burglary occurred in the 1200 Block of Lafayette Rd, Gladwyne. Entry into the residence was gained via a second-floor window. It is unknown what was taken.

Sometime between Saturday February 10th and Sunday February 11th a residential burglary occurred in the 800 Blk of Old Gulph Rd, Bryn Mawr.  Entry into the residence was gained via a second-floor window.  Electronics and jewelry were taken.

February 8, 2018

This morning at approximately 4:30 an armed robbery occurred at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 101 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd.  In this incident, a black male wearing a black jacket and a black ski mask forcibly entered the store and demanded cash. He displayed a handgun. Taken in this incident were cash and cigarettes. 

January 29, 2018

Sometime between 5:30 PM on January 26th and 9PM on January 28th, a residential burglary occurred in the 500 Block of Haverford Rd, Wynnewood.  Entry into the residence was gained by forcing a side window.  Once inside, the suspects removed cash and jewelry.

January 23, 2018

On Friday, January 19th sometime between 9 AM and 11 PM a residential burglary occurred in the 200 Block of Conshohocken State Rd, Bala Cynwyd.  Entry into the residence was gained by forcing a rear door.  Once inside,  the suspects removed a guitar and cash.
