Lower Merion Township Proposed Environmental Action Plan (pdf document)

 Recognizing the beneficial environmental impacts the Township can have through stewardship, capital improvements and regulation, the Environmental Advisory Council will, with the assistance and input of Township staff and oversight from the Board, make concrete proposals to the Board that can be implemented through the Township’s areas of influence. The Environmental Advisory Council has categorized these into six broad inititiatives:

  • Green Building Practices
  • Education
  • Energy Conservation
  • Land Use
  • Recycling
  • Storm Water
  • Miscellaneous Environmental Initiatives

The EAC has organized itself into teams consisting of members of the EAC leading each team, with staff, interested Board members and selected residents or experts participating in each of these teams. Recommendations, observations and information will be presented by the teams to the entire EAC and participating staff members for comment, discussion and ultimately recommendation to the Board of Commissioners.

The team leaders are:

  • Bruce Bayne - Land Use
  • Joe Rudek - Recycling
  • Brian Hoppy - Storm Water
  • All - Miscellaneous Environmental Initiatives
