At the July 15th Board of Commissioners meeting, County Commissioners James Matthews and Joseph Hoeffel presented the Township with a check for over $1.3 million to purchase approximately eight acres from Westminster Cemetery and to begin construction of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail.
“This is one of the largest municipal grants awarded under the Montgomery County Open Space Program and it will be put to good use for the Trail,” noted Commissioner Philip Rosenzweig, Open Space Committee Chairman. “Positive momentum and excitement surrounding the creation of this Trail continues to grow.”
