Biography

Cheryl Gelber began her term of office as a Commissioner on January 5, 2004. She is a 28 year resident of the Township.

Commissioner Gelber graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Government and a M.S. in Psychology and Organizational Development from Cornell University and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law.

Listed among her professional associations and civic involvements are: served as a Board member of the Township's Planning Commission, Lower Merion Counseling Service, JUDICARE Senior Citizens Project, a Director and former Chair of the Land Use and Preservation Committee of the Wynnewood Civic Association, a Board member of RSVP of Montgomery County, and a Certified Mediator. She is also the project manager of the Lower Merion-Narberth Community Coalition. Gelber is a member of both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and was a two time recipient of CIGNA's Community Caring award.

She and he husband, Richard, are the proud parents of Jeremy and Johanna.
