
Commendation for Heroism
November 2009
Sgt. Peter Assenmacher and Officer Adriana Culmone were dispatched to a water rescue involving a woman and her son trapped in their car under the Wynnewood Train Station underpass. The car was partially submerged in quickly rising water. Sgt. Assenmacher and Officer Culmone entered the water and were able to rescue the woman and her son by cutting the convertible roof and removing them. There were also responsible for assisting another person trapped in the rising waters.
Sgt. Assenmacher and Officer Culmone entered the situation without any hesitation demonstrating courage and dedication to duty. Their heroic actions led to the saving of 3 lives during the floods of that night. They placed the priority of life on that of the victims; and because of that, they are deserving of the department's commendation for heroism.
