Health Advisory Council: Time to Get Your Flu Shot

Post Date:10/05/2018 5:15 PM

Flu shot, influenza, vaccine, Health Advisory CouncilIt’s just the first week of October, but outpatient practices at Main Line Health have already seen cases of the flu (influenza) over the past two weeks, say public health professionals on Lower Merion Township's Health Advisory Council.

The best way to protect yourself is to get a flu vaccine, and the shots are available now. Remember: A FLU SHOT CANNOT GIVE YOU THE FLU! Contact your primary care doctor’s office or visit a local urgent care to get your flu shot this fall.

Hours and locations can be found on-line at www.mainlinehealth.org/specialties/urgent-care. Pharmacies (chain and some independent stores) also offer flu shots at no or low cost.
