Free Spring Cleanup Weekends, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., April 14-15 & 28-29
On Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th—and again on April 28th and 29th—
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
residents are invited to participate in the Township’s annual free Spring Cleanup Weekends. This is an opportunity to dispose of unwanted refuse and recyclables, household appliances, textiles, plastic, glass, newsprint, aluminum and plain old trash. It will take place at the Koegel Public Works Complex, N. 1300 Woodbine Avenue in Penn Valley.
“Township crews will be on hand to help residents unload,” said Don Cannon, Director of Public Works. “We simply ask that participants provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, at the time they check in.”
Non-profit organizations will also have representatives on hand to collect donated bicycles, toys, furniture, clothing and more.
Recyclable material must be separated from household trash. (The recycling drop-off center is also open year-round, Monday—Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Complex. Residents who are unable to attend the Cleanup Weekends can take refuse to the Public Works Complex throughout the year and are charged only 10 cents per pound. Call 610-667-1952 for more information.)
Please note that no electronics or household hazardous waste will be accepted at the Spring Cleanup Weekends. The Township will host an "Anything With a Plug" electronics recycling event on Saturday, June 23rd (9 a.m.-noon) for computers, monitors, TVs, cell phones, microwaves and more. And there will be a Montgomery County Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Saturday, October 21st, 2018, (9 a.m.—3 p.m.) at the Koegel Public Works Complex.
