Police Community Relations Meeting, Follow-Up
The report posted here, the Lower Merion Police Department Community Relations Progress Report (scroll down past the CALEA article), was issued April 6, 2015 and includes some minor updates from the version provided to the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners on March 20, 2015. The report also includes the demographic data compiled and released earlier regarding the Township’s soliciting ordinance enforcement in 2013 and 2014. This information is a follow up to the February 8, 2015 meeting at the PALM Center in Ardmore.
LMPD Superintendent Michael McGrath will use this written report as the basis for his verbal report at the Police Committee meeting on April 8, 2015. It represents part of a ongoing process to address concerns from a community meeting held in February 2015 and will continue to be a process to enhance police and community relations in every way possible. Progress reports will continue to be prepared for the Board of Commissioners as the procedure goes forward, as it is an evolving effort that takes time, commitment and regular attention.
