LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP
Notice is hereby given that the Historical Architectural Review Board of Lower Merion Township will hold a meeting on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 8:15 AM in the Board Room on the Second Floor of the Township Building, 75 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA. The Board will review the following applications beginning at 8:30 AM:

Property: 5-7 West Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003
Applicant: Borica Vesic, Studio 100 by Borica
Applicant proposes installing a new fabric awning at the former Ego Salon.

Property: 9 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003
Applicant: Joseph Amrani, Delice et Chocolat
Applicant seeks approval to add a new storefront window to the façade facing Station Road. A window with transom had been present at the proposed location but was filled in with brick and concrete block with an air conditioning unit above. The appearance of the new window would replicate that of the other windows with transoms on the façade. Applicant also seeks to replace the corner door (which had side lights) with single-light aluminum double doors.

Applicant: Andrei Konsen/Metcalf Architecture – Junior League Thrift Shop
Applicant seeks approval to install dimensional letter signage in sign band with gooseneck lights, consistent with recommendations in the Ardmore Storefront Design Guidelines. Applicant also proposes to replace rear doors (facing the public parking lot) and installing an ADA-compliant ramp with railing from the lot to the rear door.

Applicant: Jeki Ma
Applicant proposes to renovate the first floor façade of the former VFW. Non-original plywood paneling is being replaced with storefront glass and reconstructed cornices designed to match historic precedent as shown in photographs. Existing second floor double-hung vinyl windows would be replaced in kind.

Property: 7 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003
Applicant: The Bercy Restaurant
Applicant proposes to make various modifications to the former Merion Title & Trust bank building, which was most recently occupied by Primavera Pizza Kitchen. Alterations include replacement of the clock on the corner of the building with a sign installed at a 45-degree angle, the installation of a glass awning on the front elevation, and the installation of fabric awnings on the Station Avenue side of the building. The proposed sign and glass awning would feature wrought iron scrollwork. The Lancaster Avenue-facing ramp to the main entrance would be altered to include a waiting area elevated from the sidewalk. (Review of this item is pending the HARB’s receipt of application materials.)

Applicant appeared before the HARB in July, September and October for this development proposal on a triangular property bound by Old Lancaster Road and the railroad.
