OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF LOWER MERION

  1. Call to Order – Jody L. Kelley, Township Secretary, presiding

  2. Pledge of Allegiance

  3. Opening Prayer – The Rev. Dr. R. Charles Grant, Associate Pastor, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church

  4. Welcoming Comments – Jody L. Kelley, Township Secretary

  5. Administration of the Oath of Office to Commissioner-elect Anna Durbin

  6. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to Commissioner-elect Anna Durbin representing Ward 8 who was duly elected on November 5, 2013.

  7. Presentation of Official Badge of Office to Commissioner Anna Durbin

  8. Administration of the Oath of Office to Incumbent Commissioners

  9. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to the following incumbent Commissioners who were duly elected on November 5, 2013:

    Ward 2 - Jenny Brown
    Ward 4 - Steven K. Lindner
    Ward 6 - Philip S. Rosenzweig
    Ward 10 - V. Scott Zelov
    Ward 12 - Brian A. Gordon
    Ward 14 - Rick Churchill

    This 58th Biennial Session of the Board of Commissioners will also include the following Commissioners who were duly elected on November 8, 2011:

    Ward 1 - Daniel S. Bernheim
    Ward 3 - Paul A. McElhaney
    Ward 5 - Cheryl B. Gelber
    Ward 7 - Elizabeth S. Rogan
    Ward 9 - George T. Manos
    Ward 11 - Lewis F. Gould, Jr.
    Ward 13 - C. Brian McGuire

  10. Nomination for Office of President of the Board of Commissioners

  11. Administration of the Oath of Office to the newly-elected President of the Board of Commissioners

  12. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to the newly-elected President of the Board of Commissioners.

  13. Nomination for the Office of Vice President of the Board of Commissioners

  14. Administration of the Oath of Office to the newly-elected Vice President of the Board of Commissioners

  15. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to the newly-elected Vice President of the Board of Commissioners.

  16. Approval of Resolutions:

    1. Resolution appointing Chairperson of the Township's Vacancy Board

    2. RESOLVED, that in accordance with Article V, Section 530 of the First Class Township Code Lita Indzel Cohen is appointed as Chairperson of the Township's Vacancy Board. This Board consists of the fourteen members of the Board and a registered voter of the Township who shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners at the Township's first meeting each calendar year or as soon thereafter as practical and who shall act as Chairperson of the Vacancy Board.

    3. Resolution appointing Township Engineer

    4. RESOLVED, that in accordance with Article XII, Section 1201, of the First Class Township Code and Article III, Section 506 of the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Edward P. Pluciennik is hereby appointed as the Township Engineer of the Township of Lower Merion to serve for a term of two years, and until his successor qualifies. The Board of Commissioners shall fix the compensation of the Township Engineer.

    5. Resolution appointing Township Solicitor

    6. RESOLVED, that in accordance with Article XII, Section 1201, of the First Class Township Code and Article III, Section 506 of the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Gilbert P. High, Jr., Esq., is hereby appointed as the Township Solicitor of the Township of Lower Merion to serve for a term of two years, and until his successor qualifies. The Board of Commissioners shall fix the compensation of the Township Solicitor.

  17. Administration of the Oath of Office to the Township Engineer

  18. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to Township Engineer Edward P. Pluciennik.

  19. Administration of the Oath of Office to the Tax Collector/Township Treasurer

  20. Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge, The Honorable Lois Murphy will administer the Oath of Office to Tax Collector and Township Treasurer Samuel T. Adenbaum.

  21. Announcement with respect to the Committee Assignments for 2014 and 2015

  22. Reappointment of Township Manager

  23. Consider for approval extending the Township Manager’s employment agreement on a day-to-day basis through January 31, 2014, the date upon which he has decided to voluntarily retire.

  24. Adjournment - Commissioner Lewis F. Gould, Jr., Esq., Senior Member of the Board of Commissioners

RESOLVED, that this 58th Biennial Reorganization Meeting
of the Board of Commissioners
of the Township of Lower Merion stands adjourned.

The next stated meeting of the Board will
be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014
at approximately 8:00 PM.
